25  Experimental materials

Understanding the experimental design requires access to the full set of materials used in the original study. Ideally, those materials are stored in a public repository. Otherwise, you may need to contact the authors to request a copy.

25.1 Class example

(Dietvorst et al., 2015) lodged their materials in ResearchBox. The archive includes a PDF of the Qualtrics survey, a CSV of the data, STATA code for analysis and supplementary information describing the forecasting model. The same package is also available on the Journal of Experimental Psychology: General website.

The survey PDF shows the exact text and question flow seen by participants in each condition. It forms the base of our replication.
